One of my All time fave films.

Granted the new one is good, but you can't get much better than the original 1950's job.

Have a laugh and search out the Pendragon version. OMG! True to the HG Wells book, but the CGI leaves a lot to be desired...

Mine as well. I used to be War of the Worlds obsessive. I read the book first, watched the Steven Spielberg version of the movie (because it came out shortly after I finished the book) then watched the 1950's version and I even found a cassette recording of the 1938 radio broadcast adaptation of the story by Orson Welles. The one that caused mass hysteria and made people believe that the Earth had really been invaded by Martians.

I think I may have watched some of the Pendragon. I do remember seeing a newer War of the Worlds on TV and it said it was '05 but the CGI was terrible. It may very well have been the one you're talking about.

The Pendragon one came out about the same time as the Spielberg jobbie. There WAS, and I'm trying to get myt hands on it, a TV series, with the original actress, Anne Robinson, and the martians came back to life.

Scared the living bejesus outta me, when I first watched it.. lol!
